A Day of Caving at Mabinay Come spend the day exploring the caves of Mabinay, the second longest cave system in the country. On the two hour drive to the caves, you pass by countless sugarcane plantations. Never been caving before? No problem. Our guides will teach you everything you need to know to enjoy this memorable experience.
Caves you can choose from:
- Mambajo - an 18 meter rappel takes you into the cave. A 10 minute hike through the cave brings you to the wooden ladder that takes you out. (Alternatively: you can take the ladder in and out of the cave)
- Panligawan Cave – “The Courtship Cave”. An 18 meter rappel takes you into this cave. A walk thru this 80 meter long cave brings you to the exit steps.
- Pandanihan Cave – “The Marriage Cave”. There is a stalagmite curtain diving this 120 meter long cave into two rooms. This cave has an easy entrance and exit and the pathway is an elevated metal grating.
- Gasidlak Cave – “The Crystal Cave” gets its name from the stalagmites and stalactites which fill this cave. There is a metal walkway running the entire length of this 140 meter long cave. This cave also has an easy entrance and exit.
For variety, visit the Niludhan Falls. “The Kneel Down Falls” are 40 meters high and 25 meters wide.

The Casa Roro Falls The 2km walk from the road is comprised of 300+ cement steps with handrail and a short walk along the river’s edge. The trip to the 30 meter high waterfall takes approximately 45 minutes each way. There are some picnic tables near the base of the falls, let us know ahead of time and we will gladly pack you a lunch to bring along!
A guide is not needed for this trip but Bahura will provide you with transportation to the falls and lunch, if desired.

The Pulang Bato Falls Once you look at it, you will understand how the “Red Rock” falls got their name! It is about a 30 minute hike along a dirt trail to this 25 meter high waterfall. On the way back to the resort, there is a hot spring next to the road that is fun to stop and wash your hands in. Ask the guide about it!

Sulfur Hot Springs This knee-deep sulfur hot spring is located a scenic 30 minute drive from the resort. The spring is about 10 feet across and is located a five minute walk from the road.
Twin Lakes National Park The twin crater lakes of Balinsasayao and Danao are located about 30km from the resort and offer some scenic views and fabulous hiking and kayaking opportunities. You can hire a banca to take you on a water tour or follow the rock pathway around the lake. It is about a 30 minute walk on a rock pathway thru the forest to a viewing area that will allow you to see both lakes simultaneously.

Wednesdays at the Malatapay Beach Market Come explore the market where locals gather to buy and sell everything from bamboo mats to cows. Buy some fruits and veggies to snack on along the way or stop at any of the stands and have a fresh seafood lunch.
The market is located in Zamboanguita and is less than a 10 minute drive from the resort. It is open from 5 AM to 4 PM but it is best to go mid-morning.
Cost: Bahura provides free transportation for all of its guests.
